Our Story
Beacon Church was born out of the desire of several friends to see a Christ-centered church planted for the communities of Bedford and Hurst. As we participated in the vision of community described in Acts 2:42-47, we thought, "wouldn't it be something to invite others to participate in life together in the community we live in?"
After years of participating in the local church and months of prayer, we approached the elders of Restoration Church late in the summer of 2020 with our hope to be sent out as a church plant. Our elders affirmed this desire, and in cooperation with The Village Church, Beacon Church was planted two years later. We've since welcomed many more friends into life at Beacon Church and hope to welcome many more. We are eager to see our community renewed through the power of the gospel.
Our Beliefs
Beacon Church is a church under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are committed to contending for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3). In unity with the historic Christian church, we believe and confess the Apostles’, Nicene, and Chalcedonian Creeds as accurate representations of Scripture’s teaching. In addition to these historic formulations, we are situated within the evangelical, soteriologically reformed, and baptistic traditions.
Our Values
-
The person and work of Jesus Christ are the heart of all ministry activity and apply to every circumstance of our lives.
-
We cultivate our relationships with God and one another through shared and individual practices.
-
We pursue friendship with one another and with our neighbors because we’ve been invited into friendship with Jesus.
-
We partner with individuals and organizations for the good of our city.
-
We obey the Great Commission joyfully by making disciples, planting churches, and sending missionaries.

FAQ

Jesus concludes what has become known as the farewell discourse with a prayer in John 17. In it, he asks his Father to help his future church to dwell in unity, making them one, even as he and the Father and the Spirit are one (John 17:22-23).
Why?
So that the watching world would see the Church as a beacon of hope, a little light in a dark world, and that those with eyes to see would follow that light of unity and sacrificial friendship and see that the source of it is the risen Jesus Christ, the true light that the darkness cannot overcome.
